Ottawa draws visitor groups to enjoy the Diaspora Tapestry

Visitor Groups enjoy the Ottawa Exhibition ...

The exhibition in Ottawa has been organised by Helen Thoret in partnership with the St Andrew's Society and between them they've greatly honoured their outreach ambitions! Jenny Bruce has been taking the lead in interpreting and explaining the diaspora - below are 40+ from the Monarchists' League.

Bradley Stuick, Vice Chair wrote in thanks:
"What an amazing international project bringing together communities worldwide.

"We as a global community can all take pride in this project's efforts as, when you view this impressive presentation of the international connections to a larger global community, it becomes smaller, relatable and conceptually manageable following the thematic Scottish connections. We can all feel "a little Scottish” when viewing the project, adding only after a tour to our collective colloquial sayings "that we all are a little Irish on St Patrick’s Day”.

"I personally take pride in the Canadian; it is very well represented and presented, personally noting my own maternal great-grand parents form part of the Brown Clan!

OOTB Visitors come with a direct interest in embroidery itself! Tours arranged for Tuesday January 17th and 24th from 10:30am to 11:30am; and Thursday January 19th from 2:00pm to 3:00pm

The Out of the Box (OOTB) Group in Ottawa, represented by Lorraine Lacroix, are 'artists passionate about creating innovative and thoughts-provoking works of art, with fibre our preferred medium. Our membership included machine and hand embroiderers, art quilters, weavers, felters, doll makers, embellishers, silk painters, and much more.'
