First Global Association 'Endorsed' Arts Tourism Awards

Three Years Action Learning Brings Awards

Dr Karl Schutz encouraged the establishment after Moosejaw's 3rd Global Conference in 2002 of a new action learning program in Arts Tourism in association with Revans University/ International Management Centres. And Dr Karl Schutz himself was appointed as one of the foundation tutors.

Over the succeeding years four candidates at the Prestoungrange Arts Festival in Prestonpans vowed that they would seek to complete the foundation stages by August 2006. And this they achieved, receiving their certification at an Admisions Ceremony in the Thomas Nelson Suite, Dr Karl Schutz and Dr Julian Wills, Baron of Dolphinstoun, acting as presiding officers for the University.

The graduates [along with others receiving MBAs from Canada, the UK and New Zealand] who are shown below having received their Certificates in Arts Tourism are Sylvia Burgess and Anne Taylor. Adele Conn was also successful but unable to attend. Gordon Prestoungrange who followed the program too and received a Diploma in Arts Tourism.

Much to his surprise but to overwhelming acclaim, Andrew Crummy, Artistic Director of the Prestoungrange Arts Festival since 2001, received an Honorary Doctorate of Management for his outstanding leadership in Prestonpans and for his many other contributions to art education at large and to the Craigmillar Project.
