The Laird 'Himself' Becomes Infeft of Glencairn

Laird Bryan Wills finally visits Glencairn

Adverse weather conditions on his visit from Canada in 2005 prevented Bryan Wills becoming infeft of his square foot of peat bog and heather in the Highlands [nothwithstanding a reconnaissance on his behalf as soon as the acquisition was made]. But it is a great pleasure to report that he is now infeft. He was most particular that he was photographed at the Camstone Cairn on such a fine day in his Canadian blouson and also pictured with the heathers, sheep and thistles so characteristic of his lands.

The previous evening he stayed with his family and friends at The Portland Arms in Lybster, birthplace of Prestonpans' own Indian Missionary, Dr MacKay. Seated left to right are: sister Anne, Joyce Mitchell-Harris, Howard Bentley, young brother Gordon - Baron of Prestoungrange, the Laird himself, Joan Wills - the Laird's wife, and Joan Bentley. The unseen photographer is Avril, Lady Prestoungrange - who is however to be seen in the second Library picture
