Pinkie Remembered .... new Museum and at The Brunton again ..

Pinkie Cleugh Battlefield Group building ever stronger interpretation ...

It's great to report that Musselburgh Museum is to stage a new exhibition about the tragic battle on September 10th 1547 when 10,000 Scots lost their lives to the English led by the Duke of Somerset.

The Exhibition will open Thursday August 29th , and runs Thursday/ Saturday from 10.30am / 4pm until end November.

Interpretation boards are also now available around the battlefield. And the drama about the battle created by Queen Margaret University students will have a further performance at The Brunton on September 26th. [Further details in the cutting from East Lothian Courier below]

At the 4th Biennial National Battlefield Symposium to be held by the Battle Trust in Prestonpans in 2014 [jointly in future with Historic Scotland in support] an ambitious tour of 'all' East Lothian's battlefields will be launched. Details were recently captured by Arran Johnston in his new book Our Blood Stain'd Fields. [It's available online here at the Boutique/ Shop Online listed to the left of the screen]. A Walkers' Guide has already been published with the support of Historic Scotland - available at The Prestoungrange Gothenburg.
