Sad News: The late Sir Garth Morrison was a longstanding Battle Trustee

Sad news of the death of Sir Garth Morrison

Many folk across East Lothian and well beyond had been acquainted with and got to know Sir Garth. In particular the Battle of Prestonpans [1745] Heritage Trust knew him well [as a Trustee] and valued his support. Last year he invited Lord Selkirk, HM The Queen's High Commissioner, to Prestonpans Town Hall to see the Prestonpans Tapestry [pictured right below]. And he was a great supporter of our Arts Festival sharing the Raising of our Totem Pole in 2006 [and donating a Talking Stick to us all]. He was personally charged with re-opening the Gothenburg in 2004 [also pictured below]. He dined at The Gothenburg with his fellow European Scout leaders when it was his turn to convene them all. And he enjoyed our re-created Fowler's Wee Heavie which he'd drank as a young man.
