John Dyer Launches 2008 Global Conference Initiative in Australia

As Members of the Global Association will know, the Global Conference in 2008 will take place in Tasmania, Australia, at the long established township of Sheffield. They have been painting murals there for more than two decades and are perhaps the leading town in Australasia.

John Dyer made the presentation in Ely Nevada that won his home town the hosting rights and on July 12th he rallied colleagues to the flag to set the formal planning process in action. First order of business was to set the probable date and the autumn was selected as the time when Sheffield is at its best. March 22nd/ 30th 2008 seems likley with the town's own long established MuralFest running in parallel with 'international nominees' as artists as well as local painters.

The next opportunity to explore the 2008 Conference ideas will be at Bowen in Queensland in September 2005, when the Pacific Murals Gathering is being held. And after that in August 2006 at Prestoungrange when the next Global Conference takes place.
