Bowen Pacific Gathering 'Gathers' Momentum

Bowen Update Looking Excellent! All set for September 12th - 16th in Queensland Australia

A first and most important point is that the Bowen Murals email address is looking good and connecting with Ron:

bowenmurals@yahoo.com.au

A wide slection of accommodation is available on request with the Whitsunday Sands Motel already winning in popularity.

Bowen has arranged bargain trips from Proserpine Airport, the local point of arrival ex Brisbane or Cairns at $A 25 each for each trip to hotel or return, down from $40.

Lil Hardy, the long-ago originator of Bowen's Murals and now resident in Ladysmith, BC, Canada will be there to cast her spell, as will Dr Karl Schutz from Chemainus, the most original of them all.

Representatives from Kati Kati New Zealand, from Sheffield Tasmania, from Kurri Kurri New South Wales, and from Foxton New Zealand are all slated in too. Scotland's Prestoungrange Arts Festival has three delegates and two more are certain from Canada's Alberta and Yukon.

Bowen has received grant-in-aid of $A 25,000 from their home State Government of Queensland and expect that their Premier Peter Beattie will open the Art Show. This is a feature that Glen and Frances are holding from two days before the Gathering formally begins which then runs along in conjunction after that. All the original paintings there will be for sale.

Early arrivals seeking to beat their jet lag are always welcome at the town's famed Chinese Restaurant. And a new mural donated privately will be dedicated on Saturday at 10.00 am.

A 'Gathering' not to be missed by any murals enthusiast in Australasia or able to travel there in September!
