Trustee Herbert Coutts adds MBE
Congratulations to Herbert Coutts MBE
It is a particular pleasure to report here that Herbert Coutts, who joined the Trustees for the Battle of Prestonpans after retirement from his cultural role in Edinburgh, has been awarded the MBE [Member of the British Empire] in the New Year's Honours List.
Details of his contributions in Edinburgh are given in the press cutting below. But more we are certain is to come here with us at the Trust! He is already taking the lead in 2008 in the design of the Battle Symposium to be convened on September 18th and 19th at The Prestonpans Community Centre, and regularly plays a role in the deliberations of the Trust.
With his background as an archaeologist and in libraries we shall surely see him before long digging with Dr Tony Pollard on the battlefield and driving the new BattleBus for our Campaign - which was formerly a mobile library here in East Lothian.
Sincere congratulations Herbert.
