Perhaps the management thought it was another PROTEST going on; but actually it was a stop for water on the march for redcoat prisoners taken at Cockenzie House at noon, and the victors, from Cockenzie to the beach at The Prestoungrange Gothenburg.

There was some heavy interrogation to be done but also an opportunity to pipe to the waves and relax in the stocks; and in the James Fewell Bar for quaffing Fowler's Ales - famous since the '45; and later at the ceilidh for the whole family at The Town Hall.
