You will appreciate that the travel and accommodation arrangements that international delegates make are idiosyncratic, and that as such we leave them to each individual to do as they see best. The Conference runs from Tuesday afternoon until Friday night, with optional programme activity throughout Tuesday and Saturday. We suggest that you should aim to arrive on Sunday to overcome any jetlag and to continue your visit/ return home from the following Sunday.

N.B. Our Conference deliberately coincides with the major international Edinburgh Festival that attracts some 500,000 visitors to Scotland's capital city some 11 miles west of Prestonpans. This is both good news and also a challenge since all 500,000 need to be accommodated.

Our very best advice is to arrange car hire when you get to Scotland and to select your accommodation from the extensive lists provided by our tourist bodies by logging on to http://www.visitscotland.com/

Prestonpans is 11 miles east of Edinburgh on the coastline of the Firth of Forth. Many attractive villages lie along that coast and Edinburgh itself of course is a marvellous place to lodge. The 26 and 29X bus services reaches our venue every 15 minutes with a journey time from Edinburgh central of 20 minutes. If you go further east a car will be required.
