Barony of Dolphinstoun |
The Barony of Dolphinstoun was formerly known as Crowthrople, and
has been held in common with Prestoungrange for over three hundred
years. In 2000 it was granted
to Dr Julian Wills, the youngest son of the Baron at Prestoungrange.
In 2001 Arms were granted by Lord Lyon. The earliest ordinance survey
was of the area in the 18th century shows the main Edinburgh/London
toll road passes across its lands, the Dolphingston colliery and
farm. The Dolphinstoun Doocot
is a category A listed building today Agriculture
