Tonight's the Night: Saltire Festival Battlefield Tour .. free to all ...

Prestonpans Battlefield by Night - 7.30pm from Meadowmill Car Park

Join battlefield historian, Arran Johnston, for an evening exploration of Prestonpans Battlefield, uncovering the forgotten story of the events which took place the night before the main battle. [Admittedly the photo below is not night, but the battle took place at sunrise!]

This walking tour visits many of the location's main landmarks, including Tranent churchyard, the waggonway fields, and Bankton House Doocot. Please wear suitable footwear and clothing; torches recommended. Tour is free, lasts approx 2hrs 30 and returns to the starting point. Spaces are limited so booking is recommended.

In honour of Scotland's Patron Saint, the Prince's flag on the Bing was been replaced by our Saltire early in the day.
