'Free' Pies & Great Pictures ... SCRAN on display as Prestongrange Museum consults ... Sunday November 26th from 12.30/4pm

Prestongrange Museum is on the threshold of some significant developments ...

... and the Museum Service is consulting as widely as it can within our community. It's a magnificent setting and can offer great opportunities to celebrate our heritage and bring many an extra visitor to town.

Residents of the area are invited to come along to a free and unique Pies and Pictures event to help shape the future of one of the oldest industrial sites in Scotland.

You’ll be able to have a hot pie in our Themed Pit Canteen and anyone coming along is encouraged to bring along their own photographs of the area past and present, especially if they are related to working or community life.

Photographs from the SCRAN archives will be projected around the canteen and stories will be told and celebrated within a unique atmosphere. Families will be encouraged to dress-up and take a selfie in our Prestongrange Time Machine. There will also be the opportunity to have your memories and stories recorded for posterity.

This event is also a great opportunity to help steer the development of Prestongrange Museum as a place which can be celebrated by the community.

N.B. The event will be taking place on Sunday 26th November from 12.30pm – 4.30pm at Prestonpans Town Hall [not the Museum itself!] High Street, Prestonpans.

The invitation is there for one and all to 'Come along and have a free pie'!

The Museum service has also just launched an online survey and would like to hear your views! The survey can be found at http://bit.do/prestongrange linked HERE
