Prestonpans meets Bayeux - @ St Mary's: Your Invitation is Here
Stitchers All and Good Friends of the Tapestry ...
All good things must come to an end and the brilliant and highly successful exhibition of the Prestonpans Tapestry at St Mary's Cathedral on Palmerston Palace in Edinburgh is one such! Best estimates suggest well over 20,000 visitors will have seen the artwork, which en passant gained Top 10 Exhibition Listing from The Times at this year's Festival.
It will close, as it opened, under the auspices of the Rt Hon George Grubb, Lord Provost of Edinburgh. The ceremonial begins at 6.30 pm on August 29th. This occasion will also be graced by the presence of the 1ere Adjoint au Maire de Bayeux*, Mme Francoise Zeller. The Battle Trust is of course delighted to have such demonstration of support from Bayeux, whose fine tapestry inspired our own.
M Pierre-Alain Coffrier, Consul General de France a Edimbourg et Glasgow, will also be present.
