Tapestry crosses the Border! Alexandra Palace, London & Harrogate in the autumn

Crossing the Border - not Carlisle this time/ yet!

The Trust is delighted to announce that the Battle of Prestonpans Tapestry will be a key feature at the 2011 Knitting and Stitching Show - at both its Alexandra Palace and its Harrogate venues this autumn.

The Knitting & Stitching Show each year is one of the finest textile exhibitions in Europe, and we're delighted to be included. With some 50,000 visitors to each venue normally expected, it's going to be a busy 8 days altogether.

Opening times are 10.00am to 5.30pm (with the earlier 5.00 pm Sunday).

.... and the dates are:

ALEXANDRA PALACE: Thursday October 6th/ Sunday 9th

HARROGATE: Thursday November 24th/ Sunday 27th

Any and all stitchers/ volunteers who live close by either location/ have friends who might assist, please be in touch with the Exhibition Organiser, ajohnston@battleofprestonpans1745.org

Obviously with the numbers we anticipate, every extra helper will be able to ensure visitors can discuss the what, where, how and when of it all.

Ed: The Knitting and Stitching Shows are the definitive and best exhibitions for lovers of textiles in England. As the name suggests, it covers knitting and stitching but so much more; felt-making, shibori dyeing, jewellery-making, card-making, mixed media... the list goes on! There is so much to see and do you'll find it hard to fit everything into one day; hundreds of exhibitors selling specialist supplies that you can't find in the shops, galleries from leading artists and groups, plus hundreds of workshops to introduce you to lots of new subjects!
