More Visitors Than Ever ... for the Prestonpans Experience
More and More Groups are taking our tours ..
There was a time not so long ago when the notion of incoming tourism at Prestonpans excepting the Heritage Mining Museum was considered 'unlikely'. But times they are a'changin!
Andrew Crummy, Arts Festival Convenor in The Pans and Chairman of Three Harbours Festival, can proudly point to an ever growing number of groups as well as individuals who come along to see what all the excitement is about. Recently they have included The North Berwick Ramblers, East Linton Primary School, Friends of Mansfield Traquair Centre, Norwegian-Scottish Association, Longniddry Rotary Club and The Scottish Arts Club.
From later this year a new Murals Map dispensing machine [for £1 receive the Murals Map and the Witches and Battle Guides + a Meals Voucher to spend at The Goth worth £1] will be installed at The Gothenburg Car Park. And of course the Workshops at the edge of the old Belfield Pottery now house the Arts Festival Shop-cum-office with a Piper's Craft Centre for all to enjoy coming shortly via Barga!
.... and for 2009 The Saltire Society is already booked. Full details of the Prestonpans Experience were recently mailed to 800 societies and associations across the Lowlands as well to encourage them to include a visit to The Pans in their annual programmes.
