Politics in the Park

Politics in the Park presented by Theatre Eighty Ate and written by Iain Heggie

There was not a dry eye left in the house, and believe you me it was not from crying!

The comedy duo had everyone rolling about in their seats with laughter. Politics in the Park was a play that should not have been missed.

Jinty and Effie, skirmishing sisters in their sixties, meet in the park to discuss home-baking, farting, their men, and a mysterious peroxide blonde. Jinty thinks she is just there to enjoy the afternoon’s blether with her wee sister, but Effie has another agenda.

Jinty was played by Lynne McCallum. Since graduating in 1998, she has worked extensively in Theatre, TV and Film. She is probably best known as Peggy in BBC Scotland’s hit comedy “Still Game”

Effie was played by Elizabeth Strachan. She has worked with several Scottish Theatre, been company manager of the Scottish Actors Initiative , and appeared on “Taggart” and “Rab C Nesbitt”

The play was performed last night, Thursday 11 November with tickets sold for £10.00 per person that included a light supper of Stovies and/or vegetable curry.

This very funny Scottish play has won over audiences throughout Scotland and Prestonpans too! Look out for their return to the Goth early next year.
