Cache In – Trash Out
Hi-tech treasure hunters found more than they bargained for when they joined the spring cleaning team at Prestongrange Museum on Sunday.
A bed, a microwave, golf trolley and a cow's skull were just some of the items found by the “geocachers” who are more accustomed to using GPS to track down small containers hidden by fellow cachers.
Seven sites in Prestonpans were spring cleaned but Prestongrange Museum had the largest gathering – some coming from Glasgow and Fife to attend the event - thanks to some caches located on and around its site. (Prestonpans boasts some seven geocaches - to learn more visit www.geocaching.com)
The first prize of a first class rail travel for two on the Caledonian Sleeper was kindly donated by FirstScotrail.
Volunteers were rewarded for their hard work with an assortment of natural fruit cordials supplied by BottleGreen, Eat Natural bars and Mentos.
Prizes of cleaning products and fat traps were supplied by Henkel and Scottish Water respectively.
