Saltire Festival 2016 sees Waverley Walking Tours of Prestonpans Battlefield
Outlander earlier this year, and now it's Waverley .. it's a year round Walking Literature Fest getting going on the 1745 battle trail ....
... and of course as the observant will know [but not above pictured!], there's even at Apple & Android free download APP available now which tells the story of the tapestry and the 1722 Waggonway as well as the Battle Trail: Look for Prestonpans 1745
Saltire Festival 2016 comes to Prestonpans November 24th & 25th
The details of this exceptional festival, celebrating the Saltire's appearance in the sky at the Battle of Athelstaneford, after which it became our National Flag, will be fully available soon, but make a diary note now for the two/ split Premiere of this new way of understanding our battle in 1745.
... and the flagpole on the Battle Bing will not show the Prince's Red Battle Flag for the Festival's duration, rather the Saltire will fly. It joins that other exception when for a week the Hanoverian Union Flag flies in honour of the redcoats who lost!. But the Prince's flag was back again soon after ...at sunrise!
