BattleBus Hits The Roads of East Lothian: Coming Your Way?
Our Mobile BattleBus Means We Can Visit You ... please invite us!
The Trustees of the Battle of Pretonpans 1745 Heritage Trust have invested in the former East Lothian Mobile Library seen below to enable them to carry their campaign far and wide across the county. It's a campaign designed to secure support for the creation of a permanent Visitor Centre by 2011 at Meadowmill, atop the bing that is already dedicated to the battle's modest interpretation.
Will anyone reading this NewsNet piece please let us know if we would be welcome at 'your' local venue wherever that might be across the county [or beyond]. What we seek to do is show how our campaign is intended to lift all our spirits with thoughts of Victory, Hope and Ambition in life - just as the 26 year old Prince Charles did in 1745.
Once those visiting us in our BattleBus have heard our story, we hope they will register here on this website as a Supporter there and then and plan their diaries to be able to attend the Symposium and/ or re-renactments in September this year and subsequently - and/ or attend one of this year's 15 performances of The Battle of Pots and Pans, and/ or join in the battle archaeological studies that are to be led by Dr Tony Pollard pictured below in what are now Panners back gardens and across Scottish Power tenanted farmlands where the battle raged 263 years ago.
