If You Don't Ask .... more on Cuthill Park
Application for Cuthill Park Pre-Programme Grant Submitted to HLF
The Friends of Cuthill Park moved swiftly after they were established on June 4th as a 'merged team' from the Community Council and the Cuthill Residents Action Group.
Darren Barker was asked by The Friends to finalise the documentation to meet the HLF deadline for Parks for People applications at June 30th. And the CEO at East Lothian Council, the de jure owners of the parkland, signed it off with the active support of local ELC Councillors Willie Innes and Peter MacKenzie.

So at least we've now asked for assistance from the Heritage Lottery Fund to get the Park back in action. The request to HLF as the document below indicates is initially for just £27,300 to undertake a thorough analysis and design process prior to implementation. The Arts Festival/ Barons Courts Charity has pledged the necessary matching cash of £5,000 to The Friends as well as both The Friends and ELC making 'in kind' contributions to the cost of £2,000 each - an overall budget of £36,300.

In parallel, the Arts Festival's initiative arising from discussions within the Resident's Action Group late 2006 sees the launch on July 28th of the £5,250 Willie Park Fund - for Cuthill Youngsters to get started with serious golf at the RMGC on 6 month Bursaries.
