Growing Volume of Support for Gareth Bryn-Jones Tapestry Pavilion Design

Every time the Prestonpans Tapestry is exhibited, the Trustees and embroiderers are always asked, repeatedly: Where will its permanent home be?

The answer is that the Trust 'hopes' it will be at Prestongrange Heritage Museum and that it will act there as a key attraction as the Museum raises its game across all aspects of the community's heritage in the coming five years.

The Trust is not solely concerned with displaying the Tapestry of course. The Trust came into existence in 2006 to conserve and interpret the battlefield itself. And it very much intends to achieve that. However, the putative Tapestry Pavilion and Living History Centre at Prestongrange is obviously extremely important. Gareth Bryn-Jones, current Chairman and a professional architect has been responsible for creating the draft ideas and model shown below.

It can be seen that present 'hopes' expect the Pavilion to stand next to and be connected with a restored BathHouse.
