The late Queen Mother, Perth and the Red Cross
Peter Dewar, who served as Editor for the 19th Edition, Volume 1, of Burke's Landed Gentry - The Kingdom in Scotland, which was launched with a great fanfare at the Prestongrange Heritage Museum in 2001 has another very important role in life. He is Treasurer to the Red Cross Appeal in Scotland to honour the late Queeen Mother. To advance that cause the Red Cross organised a day at Perth races with a Memorial Race at 1.45pm. The Queen Mother's horses, now with HM The Queen, appeared in the paddock one of which is pictured last below.

The full programme is set out above, and the photographs that follow show Anne Wills, of Burns Night 2003 Chemainus fame, arriving in Scotland and Pamela Hartwell, sister-in-law to Prestoungrange, studying form before dinner at Wintoun Hill Farm the night before.
At Perth itself the Tote was a first stop before the Tattinger lunch. Perth is a family sized course giving grand visibility for Lady Prestoungrange and all the rest of us even though the stand was packed throughout the magnificent and sunny day.
