Goodbye To Wintoun House
A Sixt Kenning Rental 3 tonner, driven by Mathew Wills Yr of Prestoungrange with the Baron as jump seat passenger, has carried all the Baronial paraphenalia away from Wintoun House after the decision to seek other digs was taken from end September. The view over the car park wall was as poignant as any in the 2000 acres we have so quickly grown to love.
It has been the scene of many a grand supper party and of course host to the Burke's Landed Gentry Launch Dinner in 2001 with Sir Malcolm Innes, lately Lord Lyon, as Guest of Honour and to IMCA/ UALB Congregation 2002. It will be greatly missed as will its senior residents there Sir Francis and Lady Dorothy Ogilvy. They kindly threw a Last Supper as all was packed away.
Nil desperandum. Accommodations in the Belhaven Wing and in The Farmhouse are always available and we expect to be back there as a homestead of first resort, but the intention is to find something permanent for the Baron Courts and all its activists by mid 2003.
