The Global Mural Arts and Cultural Tourism
Association
The Global Mural, Arts & Cultural Tourism Association is a non
profit organization formed to recognize and promote the important
relationship between arts and tourism in community economic development.
Our mission is to raise public awareness in all disciplines of
the arts and in so doing create a new renaissance; promote tourism
beneficial to local industries; and through the international
language of art, develop a better understanding between all cultures.
The organization also emphasizes the value of partnership between
the arts, business, tourism and the Government sector.
The GMACTA has already sanctioned and co-organized
five biennial Global Mural Conferences. The first was in Chemainus British
Columbia, Canada;29 Palms in California, USA followed; then Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada; Ely, Nevada,
USA; and Prestoungrange, Prestonpans, Scotland. The next and 6th in March 2008 is to be held in Sheffield Tasmania and the 7th, in 2010, in Colquitt, Georgia, USA.. Long range
plans are for this biennial event to become a major global arts
exposition similar to that which the Olympics has established
for sports. We have launched a web-site www.globalartsandtourism.net
where you can contact us and will soon be establishing a database
for artists and suppliers. In the future it is envisioned that
the Association will provide scholarships and commission artworks
internationally.
This is an invitation for you to become a "Founding Member" in building this global organization which has as its purpose
economic development through advancement of arts and tourism. (Founding membership is limited to 100 members only!)
