Cockenzie Procession

Cockenzie Power Station, Edinburgh Road
by Andrew Crummy

At the other end of Prestonpans and the gateway from the East, on the walls of the Cockenzie Power Station, is another mural by Andrew Crummy. This mural depicts a procession based on the annual Gala Queen parade and The Box Meeting. The parade contains all the main elements of Cockenzie including the fishing and mining industries, the monks who started salt panning and the various famous people from Cockenzie. It also shows off some of the main machinery in the Power Station.
