Your invitation to play in the inaugural Global Arts and Tourism Association’s golf
competition at the Royal Musselburgh Golf Club, one of Scotland’s most famous institutions
located in Prestongrange House, the former home of Barons of Prestoungrange.
Play
on a beautiful parkland course with wonderful views and compete for the specially
designed Willie Park Cup, modelled in honour of the Club’s ancient 'Old Club Cup'.
The original cup is housed in St Andrews.
Why 'Willie Park' Cup? Willie Park won
the first Open Championship ever played in Scotland in 1863 and he won it on three
further occasions. His brother Mungo also won as did his own son, Willie Park Junior,
twice. Seven winners in one family, The Park's! The Baron of Prestoungrange is proud
to claim his decent from Willie Park – his great, great uncle from Musselburgh.
The Willie Park Cup will in future be played for at each Biennial Global Association
Conference where ever it is held around the world and has been donated by The Prestoungrange
Arts Festival to the Association.
