John Muir's Wilderness and Trail USA

John Muir's Fame is American of course!

Whilst John Muir is well commemorated in his birthplace, East Lothian, not least with a splendid museum and walk, the mark he made in the USA as catalyst for their National Parks movement is perhaps much more widely acknowledged.

Most spectacularly he has a Wilderness no less named after him and what he termed a "Range of Light", which includes Pioneer Basin pictured below. It is in the Sierra Nevada on the borders of California and Nevada with sweeping views of glacial valleys, granite peaks, crystal clear lakes and streams. "The most divinely beautiful of all the mountain chains".
