Anchor Mill, Paisley Next Stop ... Tapestry's 3rd Exhibition this Spring

Overnight move from Pinkie to Paisley sees Tapestry the nearest yet to Glasgow!

Since the outset, the Battle Trust has been keen to find a location in Glasgow where the Prestonpans Tapestry can be displayed - but to no avail thus far! With the Paisley exhibition that opened on Friday night April 26th at Anchor Mill [not to be confused with the Thread Mill Museum's own location] we are coming pretty close. And it had to be a speedy move from Pinkie House that only closed on Wednesday evening - well executed thanks to Arran Johnston and the staff from the Museum. Friday night saw the great and the good including two more MSPs and many of the supporters of the Museum come along.

As the photograph below shows, the exhbition area enables the full magnitude and colour of the tapestry to be enjoyed. It is open to the public from April 27th/ May 4th.

The Thread Mill Museum itself is a fascinating destination of course, so any visitor to see the Tapestry at Anchor Mill will also have much else to enjoy. Details of the Museum are available HERE

The venue is a very fine space in the refurbished 19th Century Anchor Mill buildings by the river, and is being staffed by Paisley Thread Mill Museum volunteers.
