Pinkie Theatre at Brunton ... QMU joins with community groups .. April 18th @ 7.30pm

Another important step in conserving Pinkie Cleugh 1547 and recounting its story

Late last year the heritage group in Musselburgh campaigning to interpret and conserve the heritage of the battle of Pinkie Cleugh in 1547 received a lottery grant to place interpretation boards appropriately. Now, Queen Margaret University drama students and local community players have created a theatrical occasion that can be first seen at the Brunton, Venue 1, on April 18th @ 7.30 pm.

All the details are in the press cutting from East Lothian News reprinted below.

Prestonpans 1745 Battle Trust delighted ...

This theatrical production coincides with the visit on April 27th/ 28th/ 29th to East Lothian of His Grace the Duke of Somerset, descendant of the English commander who inflicted the calamitous defeat on the Earl of Arran and his Scottish army at Pinkie Cleugh in 1547. He's visiting the Prestonpans 1745 Battle Trust to help launch the Trust's latest initiative supported by Historic Scotland - a new book by Arran Johnston telling the story of all the battles of East Lothian since pre-Roman times. The book's official launch, Blood Stain'd Fields - the Battles of East Lothian, is at Dunbar Town House at 6.30 pm on April 28th. All welcome. Copies will be on sale at Kesley's in Haddington, in the Prestoungrange Gothenburg and online HERE
