Very Sad News: Fowler's Master Brewer Roddy Beveridge Dies aged just 37

Roddy Beveridge sadly passes away

All his friends and his many admiring customers at The Gothenburg are in deep shock that Roddy has passed away. Few had known of the health problems he has had in recent years and our memory of him is as a cheerful individual brewing to widespread satisfaction both to Gothenburg customers and at a good number of other pubs nearby.

A commemorative WeeHeavy Brew is planned by 'Uncle Charles' who has worked with Roddy this past 18 months in the microbrewery. It will be crafted in the New Year when CAMRA and family friends and all his customers alike will be invited to The Gothenburg. In the immediate future the brews Roddy had already completed are still available and many a toast is being drunk to Roddy's contribution in The Pans helping to keep the name and flavours of Fowler's alive.

Our most sincere condolences to Roddy's family at this time for their loss and at oh such a young age. Ironically it was only last month that East Lothian Toun Crier carried the feature article on Roddy reprinted below.
