Fowler's Ales Plans a Celebration this Spring @ The Goth

Roddy Beveridge wins the plaudits

Roddy Beveridge, the new Head Brewer at the Prestoungrange Gothenburg, for Fowler's Ales has continued to meet with CAMRA and local drinkers' approval for his Porter and his 80/-; and he has some surprises planned for the Spring.

But tasty surprises for real ale drinkers apart, Roddy will also be hosting in the Spring our second Welcome & Reunion for all from far and wide who recall and love the town's great brewery Fowler's. Or are too young for that but love today's fine ales!

Auld HQ wrought iron gate and more to be instated

When Lidl demolished the Auld Fowler's HQ on that dark day of April 24th 2009, the wrought iron gate, somewhat rusted, was saved and is being lovingly restored to be rehung at Brewer's Alley to the west of the Goth. The Hall flooring in the Auld HQ boasting the Mercat Cross, logo of Fowler's since 1745, was also saved. And the Scottish Brewing Museum in Glasgow donated to our care a number of Fowler's artefacts. Finally, over the past 7 years since the Fowler's microbrewey was installed at The Goth, many more Fowler's memorabilia and old photographs have been handed in.

LynneSchroder's restoration work in hand ...

All will be on show ... and following the story last week in East Lothian News we very much hope to see Sarah Angus's family, including her grandchildren, then if not before.
