Belfield Pottery Workshops Open their Doors ..

Artists' Workshops to Welcome Visitors at Weekends and More ..

It's some two years now since the Prestoungrange Arts Festival took the lease on the Belfield Pottery Workshops, the final of the three in a row coming aboard for use by the long running Art Classes as they relocated there from Cockenzie old School.

So the three now house a variety of artistic activities. At the seaward end Hamish Moore makes his pipes; in centre the Art Classes meet regularly; and nearest to the High Street the Prestonpans Battle Trust takes care of its Scottish Arts Council sponsored Story Teller.

From the end of October however, under Adele Conn's leadership, all three Workshop areas will be working co-operatively at weekends and in high season to attract visitors and potential new artists with demonstrations and exhibitions of completed work. All the books published by the Arts Festival and Battle Trust along with their Walking and Witches Guides will also be available.

Everyone is invited to call in to see what goes on and hopefully from time to time find an artwork they want to take home!

There's a Special Grand Evening scheduled on Wednesday November 4th from 6-9 pm.

In parallel of course, arts activities continue at The Prestoungrange Gothenburg opposite. And for £1 placed in the Slot Machine close by the Totem Pole, Guides and a Voucher to spend at the Goth worth £1 continue to be available.

The East Lothian Courier carried details last week of some of the upcoming activities. Just click on the cutting to enlarge
