Agitant Calls The Muster Roll for September 2008 Re-enactments

Colonel Agitant Adam Watters continues to invite recruits for the King's or Prince's Shilling to make contact as soon as possible here by email @ agitant@battleofprestonpans1745.org


The Trust has just published Ian Nimmo's factitious Briefing on the real and Stevenson's Al[l]an Breck which is linked here for all potential recruits to ponder - Alan Breck - Man with the Belt of Gold.

Muster Occasions for September 2008 Re-enactments

The following listing is still provisional but likley to have a close resemblance to the final schedule.

1. Wednesday 12 noon for 1 pm September 17th DECLARATION OF KING JAMES VIII at Edinburgh Mercat Cross by Lord Lyon.

2. Friday 12 noon - 2pm September 19th PRINCE CHARLES EDWARD'S WAR COUNCIL at Sheep Heid Duddingston and The Cottage there

3. Friday 6pm onwards September 19th REDCOAT OCCUPATION OF PRESTONPANS including The Prestoungrange Gothenburg

4. Saturday 5-7am September 20th WALKING THE RIGGONHEAD DEFILE to Seton Collegiate followed by a Highland Breakfast at The Prestoungrange Gothenburg

9.30-10.30am - Military Camp @ Bankton House welcomes visitors

10.45am - BANKTON HOUSE SKIRMISH resulting in mortal wounding of Colonel Gardiner

11.45pm - Muster at Battle Bing and Waggonway and return with Pipes and Drums to Luncheon

13.00/14.00pm - Re-enactors Luncheon at The Prestoungrange Gothenburg

14.30pm - RE-ENACTMENT OF THE BATTLE at Cuthill Park [with canon fire]

15.30pm - Redcoats flee to Pittenween by boat or are taken prisoner and marched to be interrogated at The Prestoungrange Gothenburg and on beach there

19.00pm - CEILIDH and Buffet Supper at Prestonpans Community Centre

22.30pm - Stand down
