Pans Fringe comes to town – Sillar and Dirt

Sheila Fraser, a Prestonpans local put on her production of 'Sillar and Dirt' (Money and Dirt) plus an additional “Tears and Laughter” recital, at The Goth on Monday 16 August 2004. The play was most appropriate to Prestonpans as it was based on the life and times of 2 woman in the coal bing in Prestonpans, philosophising about their life during and after World War I.

Sheila was delighted by the audience number – just over 60 of you attended... which beat the crowds she pulled at the Edinburgh Fringe at the Apex City Hotel.

Setting the stageThe appreciative audience

In keeping with the Scottish theme of the performance we dished up a light evening meal of Haggis, Neeps and Tatties and served everyone with a nip of Glenkinchie Whisky (keeping it local!)

So Prestonpanners can certainly give itself a cultural pat on the back for supporting our local playwright and encouraging us at the Goth to bring you more of the Arts all year through.

Both plays also had an Edinburgh Fringe run that was sponsored by The Prestoungrange Arts Festival
