The Historical Society
The Historical Society in Prestonpans was established in 1985
on the initiative of Tom Wilson following that years most successful
History Week. It was in full swing in 1996 for the 250th Anniversary
Celebration of the Battle
of Prestonpans. It holds regular meetings, has published vitally
important collections of memories and is building its own archive
of local documentation. It's most successful
publication is Tales
of the Pans now in its 2nd edition (hard copy) or on this website.
It works in the town in collabaration with many other interest
groups.
