Burns' Miscellany 2004

2002 was the Orient Express; 2003 was at Chemainus. And so the plan was for a quiet 2004 before the New Gothenburg's first major Burns' Supper with the Lassies in 2005. But 2004 was nonetheless greatly enjoyable both in Canada where Bryan and Anne Wills went Rotarian and to the Memorial again with Terry Jones, and in England where the Baron Sergeand volunteered to convene in Buckingham.

Sylvia invited Clan Members locally including Dolphinstoun and Prestoungrange to a splendid feast of Scotch broth ( she loathes pearl barley herself ), haggis, neaps, tatties, stovies, spicy plum sauce (as commended by the Dempster), fresh raspberries, cranachan, New Zealand honey whisky cream and tablet with the coffee. The whole was accompanied throughout by the Glenkinchie and chased with Brammle liqueur and Burnsian CD musak!

Earlier Pamela Hartwell took the opportunity to welcome Sylvia and Lady Prestoungrange for the foundations celebration in Oakham for her new conservatory and Milton Malsor welcomed the family back from Scotland to a light dusting of snow for church and sheep alike where once the rainbow ended.

The Prequel in Scotland had also seen the Arts Festival team christening the new South Wing apartment at Wintoun House with their own supper and Bromley-by-Bow guest Nick who is commissioned to make some of the furniture for the Gothenburg's Lord Mayor's Bar and Park Lounge.
